About the Chairman of the Al-Hathrah Commercial and Industrial Enterprising Group:

Al-Haj / Saleh Hussein AL-HATHRAH. Born in 1925, in Al-hadaa Village, Dhamar.

Since his childhood, Haj Saleh had exhibited commercial prowess.  As a consequence of the political situation of the country at that time, Yemen was isolated from the outside world due to the ruling system of the time. That led Al-Haj Saleh to immigrate to Ethiopia in 1945 and start his industrial investment in foodstuff, textile, and cleaning supplies as soon as he arrived.

Having been an immigrant for more than 15 years, Al-Haj felt responsible towards his home country, Yemen. After accumulating a considerable sum of money, he decided to travel back to his home country, and that was before the Yemeni revolution.

Having reached his home country, and after settling down in Sana’a, he started his commercial activity in the Old Sana’a City, in Souk Al-Melh, which consisted of foodstuff, textile, cement, sugar, and cleaning supplies.

Soon enough, he had become one of the most renowned Yemeni businessmen and an important asset to the private sector of Yemen’s economy in general.

After that, he began to think of expanding his business and transited towards industry alongside commerce, and was able to establish the following:

“The Yemeni Company for Detergent and Soap Industry LTD,” for producing and exporting detergents and soap that are named by the following brands: “White Tiger, New Right, Jawharah, Super Flash, Deluxe, Camellia.” The company is one of the industrial pioneers in the Middle East and is the first in the Arabian Peninsula.

Afterwards, he expanded in the field of industry and has founded “Alnahdain Company for Mineral Water LTD,” carrying the brand “Hadda,” which is considered the finest packaged mineral water in terms of quality and purity on the national level. The production is supervised by an international French company of the same field.

Achievements continue through the opening of “The Modern Arabian Company for Plastic Manufacturing and Wrapping LTD.” That resulted in making “Al-Hathrah Commercial and Industrial Enterprising Group” one of the biggest economical groups in Yemen.

Ever since its establishment, the group is continuously endeavoring to produce high quality products for the clients, thriving and prospering through constant development and the search for new investments that could expand the business further economically in different countries, adding a valuable and positive addition towards the person and the society.
